Isolated

I had great difficulty naming this piece. I wanted something that would bring to mind the grandeur and vastness of the brilliant skies above, and how little our own lights here on Earth compare. I wanted the name to point out how we strive to emulate the same radiance that the heavens shine, but then I also noticed how those stars, despite their numbers, share none of their light with us. Their glow is restrained to the sky above while we are left with black silhouettes that somehow outweigh and encroach on our struggling efforts to mimic those jealous celestial bodies. When night arrives we become truly isolated in the harsh and yellow hum of our attempts to recreate the perfection seen in those melodic stars as they dance and shimmer to only themselves.
